Highland Archaeology Festival

October 8, 2022

Join us to Celebrate Highland Archaeology, History and Heritage

The festival is provided by the Highland Council and runs over 3 weeks each late September/October to celebrate the heritage of the Highlands from earliest settlers to modern times, below ground and above. Whether you are a seasoned archaeologist or a complete beginner, the festival will let you explore an amazing range of places and collections.  There’s something to suit everyone and many of the events are free!

Recent Archaeological Discoveries and Research Conference

The annual conference highlights recent work on archaeology and heritage of the Highlands, and allows you to browse displays from local groups and organisations.

Highland Council Chamber, Council Headquarters, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness
8th Oct 2022

Displays and Poster Sessions

This year we again have an extended lunch break and slot at the end to allow time for poster sessions at some of the many displays (details will be provided on registration). These allow groups to briefly showcase projects they have been involved in. Displays are offered by museums, heritage groups, archaeological units and some national organistions, providing a chance to meet and chat with people involved in Highland heritage.

Booking a Place
Conference places must be booked in advance. Cost £25 or £15 for full-time students, includes admission and tea/coffee.  Bookings and payments preferred by Eventbrite. For those who don’t use the internet, payment can be sent by cheque. A booking form is included in the HAF Listing 2022 available from the Document Library in the 2022 folder on the website.
